Description
These early, somewhat rare Japanese Fender / Squier Strats were introduced in mid 1982. They were offered in ’57 and ’62 reissue models, were produced in the Fujigen factory for the Japanese market and offered in small handful of colors. They also carried a traditional Fender spaghetti logo with a “Made in Japan” stamp just under it and were loaded with American made vintage voiced pickups. Export models sent to Europe were the first to feature the black Squier logo with “Original Contour Body” stamp.
This early Fender logo example is all original and displays minimal wear. There is some finish belt wear on the back a few small dings but nothing significant at all. The frets are in great shape showing only a few minor indentions between the first and fifth frets, primarily under the high E, B and G strings. The guitar truly sounds and plays great without issue and is very much a cool find for any collection!
